Did you enjoy your summer?
Mine was good, though it’s been raining quite a lot here in The Netherlands.
We even had rain during the Thangka Summer Retreat – but let’s just say this was the perfect weather to draw and paint! In this email you’ll find some pics and a link to the entire photo album.

I am currently preparing for my courses in the US (NY area) that start at the end of this month, if you want to attend please register if you haven’t done so yet, so I can also prepare for you.

If you prefer to join a thangka course from your home, I just want to inform you that there’s one day left to register for the online Buddha Face and White Tara courses.

Here some pics of the recent Thangka Summer Course at Maitreya Institute in The Netherlands:

One of the lectures that I gave during the week, on all elements of the Thangka Landscape, that are connected to the Five Elements.

As a little excursion we took a tour at the nearby castle.

And when you work hard you need to eat well, so our wonderful cook Yuval created the tastiest of vegetarian dishes.

An evening full of music! Some of the students brought their musical instruments and so a spontaneous evening occurred, where we were chanting mantras together and listening to the beautiful poems of Tagore that were set on music.

And we ended with an exhibition featuring all the artworks that were created.
The image at the bottom is that of Manjushri (the Buddha of Wisdom), which is also the subject of my weekend course from Oct 6-8 in NYC.

The next course at Maitreya Institute The Netherlands will be from 23-26 Nov, with Offering Goddesses as a subject (this course will be in Dutch but translations can be provided).
