Khapse
Preparations for Losarβ Tibetans often start one month before Losar with all the preparations, such as food and new clothing. It is considered very auspiciously to look good and great during the time of celebration.
One of the essential preparations is the making of Khapse, a deep-fried dough. Khapse can be used both as offerings on the buddhist altars and as a snack. β Traditionally for large families a ton of khapse is prepared for the new year. It is believed that the structure and strength of your khapse offering can show you how your family will be -in terms of structure and strength- in the new year to come.
β * The eight-day thangka retreats offer you even more depth and are more focused on the complete process of creating a thangka, including the landscape and drawing and painting techniques
