Drawing the Buddha Face
On invitation by the Drukpa Center, renowned Thangka painter Carmen Mensink from The Netherlands will offer four special days in Singapore on the Art of Thangka (scroll paintings in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition).
On this first evening you will learn how to draw the Face of the Buddha according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
The evening starts with a short lecture to learn more about the backgrounds and symbolism of Tibetan thangkas, and during the drawing session there is a lot of individual guidance by Carmen. At the end of the evening you will return home with a beautiful, self drawn Buddha.
If you are a Buddhist practitioner, drawing the Buddha image significantly improves visualization in your meditations.
Drawing experience is not necessary!
NOTE:
This workshop can be taken on its own, but also offers you the basis (prerequisite) for the subseqent weekend course on White Tara, the female Buddha of Longevity. A discount is offered when joining both the Buddha Face and the White Tara courses.
