Green Tara is the most famous female Buddha, and in this thangka course,you’ll learn to draw her (and perhaps paint her later) according to the Tibetan Buddhist thangka tradition. Tara is one of the most revered Buddhas and is the embodiment of active compassion. She extends her hand -like a mother to her child- to fulfill all wishes. She stands with her right foot extended, ready to help where needed.
A perfect introduction for those curious about Tibetan art and its meditative practice. You’ll learn to draw the Buddha Face and the Lotus Flower, two profound symbols of awakening and purity. Through her inspired approach and guidance, Carmen helps to bring out the best in each student, and makes this retreat suitable for students of all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced. Those who have already drawn the Buddha Face with Carmen previous course are welcome to use this week to the fullest and can start immediately with their drawing of painting of the Mandala of the Five Wisdom Buddhas and may even finish it this week.

Tijdens deze weekendcursus leer je De Boeddha te tekenen volgens de oude Tibetaanse traditie van thangka (rolschilderingen). De officiële naam van De Boeddha is ‘Boeddha Shakyamuni’, en het Boeddhisme zoals wij dat in huidige vorm kennen is op zijn leringen gestoeld. Naast de tekensessies kom je tijdens deze cursus ook via korte meditaties, dialezingen en uitleg van de mantra van de Boeddha meer te weten over zijn achtergrond en symboliek. Dit geeft het tekenen van je Boeddha zoveel meer diepte.
