Eight Auspicious Symbols: Online Course

Learn to draw these special symbols of prosperity according to the Tibetan tradition of thangka.
The Eight Auspicious Symbols make the most famous set of symbols in Tibetan Buddhism, consisting of the Eternal Knot, Pair of Golden Fishes, Umbrella, Lotus Flower, Victory Banner, Treasure Vase, Conch Shell and the Dharma Wheel.

For the visits of HH. The Dalai Lama (such as the ones in 2009, 2014 and 2018), Carmen was asked to paint large versions of these symbols to welcome the Dalai Lama in her home country The Netherlands.

Symbols in a mandala/lotus shape or as separate drawings
In this 10-week course, each week a new symbol will be available for you to draw (and/or paint). You can draw them as eight separate symbols, or combine them in a beautiful mandala.Besides learning to draw the Eight Auspicious Symbols, one also learns all about their history, their place in Tibetan Buddhist Art, and the deep meanings behind them. There are also guided meditations on (the meaning of) each symbol, as well as accompanying mudras, and lots of bonus material.

This course is offered to students on all levels -also those without any drawing experience.
