Thangka Commissions

Carmen can make you a thangka drawing or painting on commission. This will be done in close consultation with you and includes the special dedications & blessings on the back, making it a very personal artwork.

Traditionally, by commissioning a thangka, you will ‘bring the Buddha alive‘ which, according to Tibetan-Buddhism, brings on very positive karma and stabilizes your connection with the Buddha and the path to enlightenment, in this life and in future lives.

Each piece is unique and drawn or painted in great detail, therefore even a small thangka drawing can take many days when working 8hrs a day on it.
A thangka painting can easily take up to a month of fulltime work.

Digital Thangka Paintings on commission start from $1800

Prices depend on size, the amount of deities and detail, with or without landscape, etc., and include all materials and taxes. Excluding shipping fees.

Thangka Reproductions for Sale

High Quality Thangka Reproductions on canvas of Carmen Mensink’s original thangkas.
They are framed beautifully in the traditional brocades (by a specialized thangka tailor in Nepal) and have the traditional ribbons, as well as a curtain to protect the image.

Handwritten dedication by the artist
The thangka reproduction includes a handwritten mantra and short dedication by Carmen on the back.
This dedication can be general (for ex. “May all sentient beings be happy and free from suffering”) but on request it can also be made personal (for ex. “Dedicated to [Name], may they live a beautiful and long life.” or  By this merit, may [Name] be free from suffering and pain. May they find comfort and peace when looking at this Buddha.”)

Shipping is included to anywhere in the world.
The thangka reproduction will be safely rolled up and shipped in a strong cardboard tube; incl. Track&Trace.
The purchase can be done via Paypal or through bank transfer.
