Enjoyed this online course a lot. I made two drawings in different sizes. Large was easier in a way, but I found painting a big challenge. Will definitely happen! Drawing/painting is above all a beautiful quest, a creative path in which I can take my steps calmly. I enjoy this. Partly because of the lectures and meditations. Thanks!

My drawings were not very good, but I was so inspired by the meanings of the symbols that I tried going 3D since I am more used to working with clay. I loved learning about the historical aspects of thangka and the significance of the method and symbolism for the practice. Carmen is a wonderful instructor and I found the Buddha Face drawing course to be very engaging. The process of drawing was very meditative. I was so excited by my final drawing and would love to learn more about thangka traditions and art!

I liked the drawing and colouring of the buddha very much. My raser made a dark spot on the chin of my buddha. I wanted to start again with a second buddha, but I started colouring already, and that’s why I had to give him a much darker skin than I actually wanted.
I was really surprised about the form of the face.

Unfortunately the glaze was too thick and so you can’t really see them (too underwater).

I loved working with the grid and, obviously, need to practice more. I find the process of using the grid to place the lines and see how everything fits together very pleasing and relaxing. I want to also use the coloring techniques during future sessions.

A deepening in the philosophy and old traditions in beautiful Tibet.
It makes you think and gives peace. Back to basics, also in yourself.

The last time I did any drawing from grids was in elementary school, so I’m pretty much a beginner. I definitely have a ways to go, but I loved getting to stretch myself and learn a few new skills along the way. 🙂 Thank you so much!

I took 2 beginner classes with Sanje Eliot about 10 years ago. It was the first drawing art class I’d ever taken. And I enjoyed it. It’s taken until now to have the time to start again. I’m so enjoying this It’s meditative and healing. I find my mind has more clarity and my heart more open. Your explanations are so clear. As you see I have a heavy hand with drawing. I used a 4H pencil. Unable to completely erase lines. I’m going to take your color class. And invest in colored pencils. In the meantime I’ll draw more Buddhas. I look forward to your offering of White Tara at some time.

It was a great course that exceeded my expectations. Despite some unexpected distractions, I was still able to get back on track thanks to the great design of the course. It was a closer introduction to White Tara and I enjoyed it. Now I am going to color with the help of the coloring techniques.

Hello Carmen, I really enjoyed this course. The explanation and information were very clear and contributed to a beautiful mandala that is not yet completely finished, but it will turn out well. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The instructions provided were exceptionally clear and easy to follow. Despite not having drawn any pictures since high school, I felt confident in my ability to follow the guidance and draw the buddha face. I dedicated an entire day to immersing myself in the drawing process. It was fun and helped cultivate my energy of mindfulness. I am eagerly looking forward to enrolling in the White Tara Thangka Art course.

p.s. I found it a bit hard to draw the ears and the eyes. But with more practices, I think I will be able to make both sides more balance 🙂 My ragdoll cat, Bodhi, says hi to Tara.

What I find special about the course is the enrichment of knowledge and experience of mantra and philosophy.
The first course was the Buddha face. Course in Utrecht.
The second course, the 8 lucky symbols according to Tibetan tradition.
Third online course, the technique of colors
Fourth online course.. the white Tara.
And now back to the beginning.. Shakyamuni 🙏

I loved the combination of drawing and hearing about Buddhism, meditation, etc. A very complete experience for me.
