Kalachakra Symbol of World Peace
Or learn to draw the Lotus Flower instead

This evening you will learn how to draw the famous Kalachakra Symbol according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
The word Kala-chakra means ‘Wheel of time’ and refers to the unique representation of the cycles of time contained within the Kalachakra Tantra, that has become widely known through the famous Kalachakra Initiation; the largest of the Buddhist rituals and is conferred regularly by the Dalai Lama. During these rituals also the Kalachakra Sand Mandala is being created.
Being a ritual for World Peace, the Dalai Lama says about this Initiation:
“We can never obtain peace in the world if we neglect the inner world and don’t make peace with ourselves. World peace must develop out of inner peace”
The ritual represents a very special form of blessing designed to promote the development of an ethic of peace and harmony in oneself and among mankind as a whole. It is also a blessing on the actual location where the event is taking place.
The interlocking body of this mystical monogram is composed of seven syllables that together form the Kalachakra mantra that you will also learn this evening.
No drawing experience is needed.
