Commissioning or buying a thangka

Carmen can paint you a thangka on commission. Any size is welcome and will be painted in consultation with you (including special dedications & blessings on the back) making it a very personal thangka.

Traditionally, by commissioning a thangka, you will ‘bring the Buddha alive‘ which, according to Tibetan-Buddhism, brings on very positive karma and stabilizes your connection with the Buddha and the path to enlightenment, in this life and in future lives.

Price Indication
Each piece is unique and painted in great detail, therefore even a small thangka can take about 3 to 4 weeks fulltime work.
Prices are based on a single deity in a simple landscape and include all materials (including real gold) and all taxes.
Excluding shipping fees.

12×16 inch (30×40 cm) = $ 2600
Optional: including brocade thangka frame = $ 2700, which makes the total size around 20×32 inch (50×80 cm)

16×20 inch (40×50 cm) = $ 3500
Optional: including brocade thangka frame = $ 3600, which makes the total size around 26×40 inch (65×100 cm)

20×24 inch (50×60 cm) = $ 4400
Optional: including brocade thangka frame = $ 4500, which makes the total size around 32×48 inch (80×120 cm)

24×28 inch (60×70 cm) = $ 5300
Optional: including brocade thangka frame = $ 5400, which makes the total size around 38×52 inch (95×140 cm)
